「The hotel itself was beautiful, great location, views, the funicular down to the old town was just across the street. But I have to say the service disappointed us several times, and we are not very picky travelers. We had asked for the hotel to organize transportation from airport to hotel. They sent prices, we confirmed which one we want. They never confirmed it and there was no transportation organized. We ended up using Bolt, which worked well and was cheaper. 「Fawlty Towers is centrally located within easy walking distance of the downtown pedestrian streets and waterfront promenade, but the surrounding neighborhood is a bit sketchy. The surrounding 2 blocks are rather dingy and full of dive bars. The hotel and room are clean. There was air conditioning (a big plus in Baku's heat). The free breakfast is very generous. The staff is nice and very helpful (but occasionally they have someone working who only speaks Azerbaijani and not English or Russian)....
