We arrived for our family summer get away at this lake home, with our two adult children and 2 granddaugher's . When I walked into the front door I was impressed by the homes decor and living space. Once I had an opportunity to look around I noticed how the exterior living space, the deck and access to the lake were unkept. The beautiful glass doors take up all of the back of the home, but due to the lack of maintenance, they were full of dead bugs, cob/spiderwebs and made it very unsightly. The home would have been perfect had it just been given some TLC. There were cob webs, spiders everywhere even inside the home. The main fireplace was not working- and I'm sure you're saying, fireplace in the middle of summer. When we arrived the temperature was in the low 60's and raining. The fireplace would have gotten rid of the dampness in the home.. sitting on a lake makes the home very damp. I guess the reason for the two dehumidifiers in the lower level which does need to be drained every other day. The gas barbecue is rusted and needs to be replaced or repaired. disappointed that we weren't able to use it in it's condition. the outside chairs were dirty and full of spiderwebs, bird droppings and the lower deck had green/black mold on the floor. The hot tub cover has nothing to support it when opened, and has a nest of wasps making it impossible to relax in the hot tub.
The path to the lake has not been maintained and we found broken glass bottle by the canoe. There is no dock to launch the boat, so you do need to prepare for entering the water. We found no oars and called the mgmt company only to find that we needed to go to the office to pick them up. We did manage to go out on the lake twice, but not in the canoe, since there is a noticeable hole that looks as though someone tried to repair. This would have been a perfect place to return to with our family, but I've been to other homes that were taken much better care of and will not return.. I paid for cleaning, but I know that I left the home cleaner than I found it..... A little TLC would make a Hugh difference in this home.
