"Lovely hotel with shops and places to visit nearby. Small things like have a space specifically for guests to hang out or read etc separate to people using restaurant and bar would improve stay. "

"Stayed over New Year and decided to stay and extra night as we felt so comfortable as staff and food were good. Room was a little small for a 'premium ' but adequate. The bar/ lounge is great, lovely fires and a lot of residents brought their dog, the staff engaged with all👍👍. Look forward to seeing how they upgrade the hotel after the January shutdown. We will be back."

"Clean room with 2 twin beds.and cute decor. Just was very attentive. Attached pub (Railway Tavern) had a friendly atmosphere, and best English breakfast on our tip so far!"

"Nice team, they had only just taken over and there was no heating but they sorted a heater out and that was enough. Rooms were clean but I missed breakfast due to work. Lovely area. "

"Fantastic location. Ideal for what we needed but also really rural-feeling and peaceful. We found it quiet and charming. We enjoyed wandering in amongst the old orchard and down through the copse, across the scrubland that forms part of the floodplain of the Tyne. It was good to know there are badgers around although we weren’t lucky enough to see anyway. The dawn chorus was impressive. Very pleasant indeed. Definitely will book again if we’re back in the area. "
