"The staff here is absolutely fantastic! Even though our trip started a bit bumpy, they totally turned it around and made us feel so welcome and at home. "I cannot say enough good things about Tifakara. Our stay was magical. From the wildlife off our back balcony (the rare treat of seeing a whole troop of monkeys!), the frog tour was thrilling, the daily included breakfast delicious and a perfect way to start a day of adventures in La Fortuna, to the luxurious accommodations (I’m forever spoiled by the remote controlled bidet toilet). All that would have been more than enough. But by far the best part about Tifakara is the staff. They were warm and accommodating and attended to us without feeling obtrusive. Everyone was beyond friendly and the warmth and genuineness was palpable. We loved every moment of our stay at Tifakara and if we’re ever fortunate enough to return to La Fortuna we would stay nowhere else."

It felt wonderfully secluded and peaceful, yet was only about a 10-minute drive into town. The location was perfect for exploring all the area has to offer. The home was also very well stocked with everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again!"

"Gabriel was a wonderful and responsive host. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen was set up enough for us to cook our meals and just fix a quick lunch. The beds were amazingly comfortable. We slept so good on them and the pillows. We loved the balcony upstairs with the ever changing view. That was our favorite place. The house is close to grocery stores and plenty of sodas and restaurants. It is about 14 miles/25-30 minutes to Fortuna and close to many excursions. There are even a couple on the same road as the house. If you come here, you will be very pleased with the accommodations."

"Our stay at Cabanas Caeli was perfect. Panlo is an outstanding host and a very kind man who will go beyond expectations to ensure you have a wonderful stay. He helped us organise day time activities, breakfast and dinner on site and taxi’s when we needed one.The jacuzzi was a favourite with the kids, not to mention stone painting and exploring the area. We loved the complementary fruit bowl with loc, fresh fruit. The setting is beautiful, waking up to hear animals and see the wonderful plants surrounding us. We would return in a heartbeat. "It is difficult to put my seven days at San Rafael Ecolodge into words, because even now reflecting on this experience brings tears to my eyes. In a world that often feels rushed and disconnected, this place truly felt like heaven on earth. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed by Giovanni, Luis, and Thor, the sweetest dog imaginable. Their warmth, kindness, and sense of humor immediately made me feel at home. This is not an ordinary hotel stay—it feels more like coming home to family. As a solo female traveler, feeling safe is incredibly important, and I cannot recommend San Rafael Ecolodge highly enough to other women traveling alone. I felt completely safe, cared for, and genuinely welcomed throughout my stay. The room was beautiful, the food delicious, and the property itself peaceful and lovingly maintained. Giovanni arranged unforgettable adventures and shared the incredible wildlife, including a family of sloths living on the property. Luis kept everything immaculate and made sure I always had everything I needed. Costa Rica captured my soul, and San Rafael Ecolodge captured my heart. I arrived as a guest, but I left feeling like family. Without a doubt, this has become my second home. Until we meet again… Pura Vida. ❤️🇨🇷"
