Welcome to the landmark. A cozy well appointed studio space in the heart of the historic Calumet/Giles Prairie district. Bright, east-facing, ground floor unit with 9 ft ceilings and separate entry. The space offers sleeping for two, a full eat-in kitchen and spacious steam shower. Just outside a quaint patio space awaits.

We have everything you’ll need for a comfortable leisure getaway or business trip. Conveniently situated near IIT, McCormick Place, Sox Field, Wintrust Arena, three major highways, and downtown. Walk to 31st street beach or bike the lake to Museum Campus. It’s all at your fingertips.

The Chicago Theatre was built in 1921 and was originally named the Balaban and Katz Chicago Theatre. This building has become the unofficial landmark for Chicago representing the rich arts and music culture Chicago is known for. In 1979 the building was added to the list of historic buildings, and later in 1983 was added as an official landmark for the City of Chicago.

The building and street are exactly what we were looking for. It felt very safe. Parking was always available. The lake is further away than we expected but just a few blocks away. Everything we wanted to do was just about a 15 minute drive away. The area is also very bikeable. Be sure to read some of the history of the building when entering the mudroom! We didn’t realize we’re on the basement level but the addition of the back patio and garden access was a plus. No worries about carrying luggage up the stairs. Getting into the front door is a little tight. Space was very clean, cozy, and modern! The addition of the space heater and fan was definitely appreciated. The coffee maker is a little tricky, but worked when water reservoir is full. The kitchen windows were gorgeous! Love the original shutters! The shower was luxurious!!! A couple of the ceiling shower heads didn’t work but the STEAM was a treat! Host was very responsive and friendly! She even left us a sweet welcome amenity to celebrate our 15 year anniversary! We definitely recommend staying here for a great way experience and explore Chicago!!!

The perfect chicago getaway!

This beautiful warm abode is tucked away about 30 minutes walk from mccormick. Felicia is accommodating and responsive! Don't hesitate - this is the spot for you! And wait til you see the luxurious bathroom!
