The lovely little market town of Brampton is only 9 miles away and is lovely, with a variety of independent shops and some excellent restaurants and cafés. As well as all the historical sites and areas of outstanding natural beauty to discover close by, a day trip to the Lake District National Park with its majestic mountains and wonderful lakes is a must, or even take a scenic drive across the border to Scotland.
