"Great hotel, staff were outstanding at going out the way to help even at the late hours of the night. I made use of the pool which overall was good however very busy even at first hours of pool opening. If I was to be really picky about my stay it would be the dust on the fan, as it’s coming to that time of year again (warmer weather) I actually had to use mine but it was quite dusty so they could have done with a wee clean especially with hay-fever and asthma it’s not gonna be the best. But apart from that I’d happily stay again."

"Nice hotel but getting a bit dated. Decor is old fashioned and showing signs of wear. Staff are very pleasant and helpful though and food is usually quite good. Breakfast choice was OK although serial was just boxes, no granola or dried fruit etc which is a little disappointing as I like to alternate the usual Bacon and eggs with a healthy choice from time to time."

"The actual room was fairly clean with a decent shower and toilet and good selection of tea, coffee and biscuits. Quite a bit of traffic noise from the main road. The building and surroundings are very run down, I wasn't even sure the pub was open to go in and collect the key as the windows had bars on them and the hanging sign was empty. Needs a bit of a paint job. Parking was dodgy, surrounded by bins, rubbish and just not very clear where to park."

"The apartment was perfect for our needs. Great location with plenty of restaurants and shops, and although situated on a main street, the place was really quiet. Access to transit was very easy. The place was clean, the beds were comfy and we had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again! "

"This property is in bad need of an update. The carpets are worn. The walls are damaged and dirty. The bathroom in our room had numerous odors emitting from it at different times of the day - something skunky, something sewer-like and just plain mildew. The floor was worn and waterlogged. The shower curtain didn’t reach the entire length of the tub so it was easy to splash water onto the floor while showering. Someone on the floor above us was running annd stomping around until after 1. The room was stifling hot, with no ac and zero air circulation because the window only cracks open a few inches. There was a fan that we had to leave on the entire time and it did very little to circulate the air or alleviate the odors. The location is convenient to go between Glasgow and Edinburgh. The town has a train station. The area seemed safe and quiet. It was one of very few available options for a very busy week in Edinburgh. We will not be staying here again. "
