Here is what people usually come to see at Beacon Rock State Park, the 848-foot basalt plug which gives the park its name.

You can actually walk up to the top of it using a very well-constructed, reinforced and paved trail which spirals around the monolith and deposits you on its summit.

All along the way, you can peek out to see some of the most breathtaking views of the gorge.

The only trouble is, when you get that close to the thing, you can't get a decent photo of it in its entirety. For that, your best bet is this state park, which is a little less than a mile away.

That's Table Mountain to the right, whose trailhead is some five miles to the East.

「Overall good experience. The place is in a quiet area. There is a wedding venue nearby, so when I arrived on Friday I could hear loud music, but it was over before 11:00 pm. The rest of the weekend was very quiet. I loved seeing deer on my porch. One thing I didn't like was pretty dark bathroom, so it was difficult to do make up. Also, lack of any counter space or shelves in the bathroom. As a woman on a long trip I'd like to have at least a small space where I can place my cosmetic bag. 」

「We had a great time at this home! It was clean and the interior of the home was very nice! Overall a 5 star place, but I do want to make some comments on a few things that could be helpful for the owners to do. The stove top on the oven was a little confusing at first, since the knobs on the stove top to turn on are not in the correct order.
