The Ape Caves are the longest continuos lava tube in the continental US at 2.5 miles long. Be prepared and bring a flashlight (headlights are best) full of batteries! And dress warm, it's usually a cool 42 degrees w water dripping from the ceiling.

Enjoyed the Cave!! Be careful it is a little slippery in the cave. (We only did the lower cave, not the upper experience cave). The only dislike was the restrooms, they stunk so bad, if you cant tolerate smells much i suggeat you hold it in....
