"Our “cottage” was a bit run down but certainly habitable. If it were mine, I’d gut it and do a complete remodel. It needed it. Beds were comfy. Location was good. Less than a minute walk to the beach which was accessible from the property. If you don’t need luxury, then you’ll be fine here, but if you’re looking for a 4 or 5 star, this ain’t it."

"Our stay at Surf Side Hotel was absolutely amazing! 5 stars without a doubt. The cleanliness of the rooms was outstanding — everything was spotless, fresh, and very comfortable. You can really tell they take pride in keeping the hotel in excellent condition. The beds were comfortable, and the entire room felt welcoming and relaxing for our family. The breakfast was excellent every morning, with very good variety and quality. It made starting the day so much easier, especially traveling with children. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional. Everyone treated us with kindness and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The hotel facilities were also excellent. Everything was well maintained, clean, and family-friendly. We especially loved all the complimentary touches they offer in the lobby — it made the experience feel even more special. Our kids also loved the games and activities available for children, which made the stay even better for the whole family. Overall, everything was super amazing. This hotel made our trip to Outer Banks even more memorable, and we would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!"

"A friend and I planned a girls getaway and this cottage was perfect! It was conveniently located and was spotless! We had plenty of room to spend time together and to have some quiet time in our own bedrooms. We are already planning another stay this fall and we’ll definitely book this cottage if available. "The location is amazing and the house was perfect. Even though it was chilly and windy we were cozy and happy on our trip. We still found time to enjoy the beach and it’s super accessible and the house had all we needed to enjoy our time. The major win was the double washer and dryers, game changer if you are traveling with kiddos! "

"There is limited ocean view from the deck and bedroom window. The ac/heat worked well. The cottage was a cute little place to stay and it was clean. I felt safe there even though there are 4 units close together. Could use blinds on 2 windows in the front for more privacy. I would prepared to take bath towels and wash cloths just in case the correct supply is not provided. I would stay there again. The host was very nice and communication was good."
