  • Home of Freeman Walker, outstanding citizen of early Georgia. Born in Virginia in 1780, he came to Richmond County in his youth and studied law. Freeman Walker, in 1826, deeded 70 acres of land to the United States Government to be used as an arsenal-the site now of the Junior College of Augusta. He reserved one acre as a family burial ground, known as the Walker Cemetery. He was the father of Maj. Gen. W. H. T. Walker, CSA. Admitted to the bar in 1802, he followed a life of public service; City Attorney for three years and Mayor of Augusta 1817-19, being the first to hold the city´s chief executive office under the name of Mayor, and Brigade Inspector of Gen. Valentine Walker´s brigade in 1813. He represented Richmond County in both branches of the State Legislature and represented Georgia in the U. S. Senate. Comfortable stay

I enjoyed my stay at this property. I was there for a Army graduation for my son. Everything was very clean and comfortable. It was easy to relax with all the comforts of home. The bed was comfortable and great pilllows. The location was close to Fort Eisenhower and easy to get to. Close to shopping and restaurants. The host was so accommodating and checked in during my stay. I would stay again.

This home was very accomodating , with comfortable furniture and beds. Two kings bedrooms , the third bedroom has twin beds. Nice bedding.Decorated in a golf motif, fitting for the area.Plenty of towels. A washer dryer.Two out door spaces. A hot tub. Fenced yard with fire pit.The host of the property Jonathan was very helpful . Thank youNew golf course being built right down the street, too!

Masters trip

Back from a great and memorable trip at The Masters. The Fletta turned out to be a great option for us. Jonathan was a perfect host, responsive prior to the trip and communicated during the trip. The house was clean and comfortable. While we were out during the day, the evenings back at home were great for watching and talking more golf while having the comforts of home. Would definitely recommend the home for your stay in Augusta.
