Unfinished and Dirty
There was many things that were incredibly disappointing about this property. An hour before arriving we received a message to say the main bathroom toilet was blocked and they weren’t going to fix it before our stay, meaning the only toilets available were inside the 2 en-suite bathrooms. After arriving we found the house in what seemed to be mid construction. The kitchen was still covered in protective plastic, with cupboards without handles and a complete lack of cutlery, glasses and plates. What mugs and glasses there were, were dirty and chipped. The “dining area” inside the conservatory lacked a light fixture leaving the room unusable. The main bathroom had a large unfinished door inside that led to an open wall cavity. There were dirty towels stuffed inside the cupboard containing the boiler. The bathrooms had no, hand soap and only 1, half empty, toilet room each. Meaning we had to go out and purchase both toilet rolls and hand soap. Despite being aware all beds would be in use many of them had no pillow cases or duvet covers. The driveway was also unusable, with pit holes and debris meaning we only had on street parking. The host actually contacted me privately through WhatsApp after I called to ask for the check in details 48 hours before our stay (having not received any codes or instruction) they stated they had not received payment despite payment being taking and processed by Vrbo, they seemed to be wanting me to pay again directly to them which I refused.
