「My brother and I loved our stay at Akaroa’s Historic Shipping Office. This delightful accomodation is clean, comfortable, cosy and has everything needed for a great visit. Close to the water, cafes and shops. Wonderful to see such a historic building being both preserved and able to be used and enjoyed by visitors. 」

「We started our NZ vacation here after landing in Christchurch and it was the perfect start. The pub served wonderful appetizers and desserts. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the bay--great for settling in and relaxation. The pool was cooler than I hoped. Breakfast is self-serve with limited but thoughtful options. Sharing facilities wasn't a problem, but there weren't many other guests during our stay. Staff was warmly welcoming and very accommodating. 」

「Beautiful setting - felt like being a time and a world away. Fresh eggs & cookies in the kitchen. Dogs had a wonderful time. Shower is delightfully hot. Had never taken a trip through the hills before, highly recommended, and if you’d like staying away from the hustle and bustle then this place is the one. Almost off-grid feeling, but flushing toilet, kitchen hob, fridge provide easy conveniences. It rained a lot while we were there so we were lucky we bought spare outdoor clothes as it was a...

Attentive host.One thing I need to give feedback on is that the online description included "kitchen", so I took food that could be cooked on a stove top. 「It's a quiet and peaceful stay, perfect for a short getaway, the room is spotless, also we got everything we needed there. Tim and his little helper, the Rottweiler are so friendly and enthusiastic. Overall is nice, would give them a 10 out of 10!」

「Location is fabulous! Many lovely walks. Over to beach, down or up a couple of blocks in distance and then back along estuary or visa versa. Very tidy accommodation with everything you need. It was great to have the garage to use to store our bikes. Bottle Lake great for mountain biking not too far away.」
