We don’t have WIFI, so enjoy reading some books, playing games, watching movies (there is a small range of DVDs available) or just sit back and listen to the birds chirping!

Enjoy walks and swims down at the beach as well as a short drive to some local wineries.

Akaroa is only a 20min drive if you want to explore some of the local shops or have a meal out. The Duvauchelle Pub also does great meals!

Tea, Coffee, Sugar, cooking oil, salt & pepper, laundry powder is available for use.

There is no shop in Wainui so it’s important to come prepared. The closest shop is Duvauchelle.

Please be aware that there is no railing around the deck so there is a need to be mindful with small children and the drop off it.

Great getaway in a lovely clean house

Was a great location, nice view and easy to get to. House was clean and had everything you need - lots of utensils and condiments. And a good selection of DVDs in case you need them!

Refreshing

The Native Birds, sun rises, ocean views and bush made this a haven to relax and unwind. Pete was awesome to deal with in every respect. Totally recommend this one.

Perfect place for a quiet getaway

Spur of the moment decision to spend a night away. This is a gorgeous spot on the hill overlooking Wainui. Quiet, restful and great seaviews. The birdlife was a lovely, unexpected bonus.

Stunning View

We enjoyed our 2 nights in this peaceful location 20 mins from the heart of Akaroa. Ghe house was clean and well equipped. Instructions clear and we felt welcome. Just a note re the fridge settings/ condenser as there was a jug of frozen water in fridge and our milk froze (until we adjusted setting.) Condenser appeared to be malfunctioning.

Wonderful views from a quiet and comfortable location

We had a very enjoyable stay at this property. The house is compact but very well setup. Our bed was very comfortable as was the living room seating. The highlight of this property is the wonderful elevated view of the Akaroa Harbour and the Heads. There are also great views from the extensive deck to the surrounding valley and hills. It was only a 10 minute walk to the beach down a track at the end of the street and the beach is good for swimming and other water activities. I also enjoyed walking / running up the narrow country roads leading out of Wainui. The location was very quiet apart from the pleasing sound of bellbirds and I enjoyed the birdlife in the area. We gave the sliding door window an extra clean so that we could better enjoy the great view from the living room as well as from sitting on the deck.

Incredibly peaceful and quiet. The birds were incredible to see and hear! Easy walk (at the end of the cul-de-sac at the bottom of the hill) to the beach by way of a mowed path. Beautiful!

Only issue was that the hot water was switched off and we hadn't been provided with any information about how to switch it back on again. We followed up with the owner once we discovered this and they were able to provide a PDF copy of instructions, which should have been emailed to us ahead of time but wasn't. This could have been remedied by providing a printed copy of the information onsite. Particularly important given there is no cell reception or wifi at the property.
