"I was nervous since I’ve never spent this much on an overnight stay before but everything was perfect. Reception was great and welcoming. The room wa a beautiful and spacious. The food was amazing!! A three meter high tori gate on Sakurajima was completely buried by ash and pumice stone during a volcanic eruption which occurred in 1914. Rediscovered by builders doing excavation work while building a new school, it was left partially buried as a memorial. Lava flows from the same eruption joined the then island of Sakurajima to Kyushu.

"The location is hard to beat. The train station is across the street, the bus station (limo bus to and from the airport) is only a few feet away, and the City View Sightseeing bus picks up nearby too. Additionally, the view of Sakurajima couldn’t be beat! High quality room and spacious by Japan standards. I would surely stay again."
