「Great staff and location but my poor rating was because the mattress was extremely soft! Not good for one’s back and the lifts weren’t working.」

「10/10 stay, one of our favourites during our trip to Scotland! Perfect location and the food on site was amazing!if you are looking for a cozy night in this is the place!」

「The owner was so warm, hospitable, and willing to help with any problems I had. He really went out t of his way to make me feel comfortable and cared for. Breakfast was wonderful---lots of hotels and cold choices in a clean, cozy breakfast room. Parking lot was easy to enter and leave with ample space for all cars.」

「We were warmly welcomed by the staff on arrival and when they showed us up to the room we fell instantly in love with the sea view. The room was very clean and in good shape. What’s more, we ate in the restaurant and the food was fresh, locally sourced and also great value for money when compared to other local options.」

「Staff and location.」

「Kirkwall youth hostel had very clean rooms, the amenities were great, the place was laid out well so everything was easy to find and the staff were very helpful.」

「Beautiful location & view. Impeccably clean. Sat on the deck & enjoyed the sunset.」

「It was wonderful having a home away from home. As others have noted it can be confusing to find at first as there’s two properties but the owners were extremely helpful and kind, The house itself is wonderful and easy to get around Skye. The notes for places to visit was an excellent touch!」

「Brae Lea is far more than one would expect. The location is a short walk to the Ferry Terminal at Lochboisdale - yet driving from the north, you feel as if you’re nestled in the foothills of a mountain (because you are). Rupert is an outstanding host, and he doubles as a 5-Star concierge. He helped us sort travel and touring arrangements as well as made breakfast and suggested dinner options. The Brae Lea accommodations are also top drawer. Clean - efficient - spacious - inviting. Full marks...
