Known as one of the original stops on the famous Route 66 highway, this charming town is steeped in U.S. history.

Seligman is a notable small town in northwestern Arizona. Visit the area for classic American restaurants, souvenirs stores and historic buildings. The town is near some of Arizona’s most popular monuments and national parks, making it the perfect place to stop while touring the region’s main attractions.

Walk through Seligman to see remnants of its classic Route 66 history. The town was on the original highway, until the route diverted in the late 20th century. Stop at Angel and Vilma Delgadillo’s Route 66 Memorabilia and Visitor’s Center, an organization committed to preserving the town’s Route 66 heritage. The center sells unique gifts and souvenirs.

Historic Seligman Sundries is another popular stop. The building dates to the beginning of the 20th century and has been used as a dance hall, theater and social center. It now functions as a gift shop and gourmet coffee bar. Notice many vintage product signs and antiques as you enter the old building.

Visit Return to the 50’s, another themed gift and memorabilia store. The store displays classic cars, antique product signs and other unique items from the 1950s. Seligman also has restaurants serving traditional American barbecue and additional delicious fare.

Drive to some of Arizona’s celebrated attractions from Seligman. The town is about 100 miles (160 kilometers) from Grand Canyon National Park’s popular South Rim. From here, many excellent hiking trails offer outstanding views of the Grand Canyon and the Colorado River. Book a short mule journey, a uniquely enjoyable activity for visitors to the UNESCO heritage site.

Visit Seligman for Route 66 history and small-town American hospitality. The town, located on the northern border of Yavapai County, contains limited motel and hotel accommodations. Alternatively, find a place to stay in the larger Arizona city of Flagstaff, about 80 miles (130 kilometers) from Seligman.

With its dedication to preserving original Route 66 history through memorabilia and classic American fare, Seligman is the perfect nostalgic stop.

Don't get diesel fuel there! We got really bad fuel that may have totally jacked up our truck. Warning to diesel pickup owners. Besides that, Seligman has some of the nicest people I've ever met!! Fun Route 66 town!
