A very welcoming hotel in an ideal spot in west Amsterdam. Boasts some of the most quiet and comfortable rooms I have ever stayed in. Great food, excellent showers and a decent sauna and steam room. A slightly odd thing when I asked for a drink in the bar one evening and was told “you can only order outside”, this seemed very odd when I regarded the dozens of empty seats and tables inside, which apparently I could not use.

The hotel itself was beautiful. Our room was comfortable but the location was unacceptable. We had a first floor room that opened to a courtyard where bikes were stored. Our checkout experience was also unacceptable. Despite paying ahead of time they attempted to charge us again for the room and at a different rate.

We had a wonderful night. The room was exquisite.

Whatever I say about this property wouldn't suffice. I looked hard for a negative and couldn't find one thing lacking. We were left comparing this property to a 5 star property in Paris, and this property was much beyond even that! Comfortable, convenient, fantastic staff, drop dead gorgeous property, excellent amenities. Yes, it's heavy on the tab, but you feel like it worth every $ you spend. We stayed here at the end of our trip and it was a nice way to treat ourselves before the long flight home. A special mention to the comfiest beds which just envelopes you leaving you refreshed for the next day. My family thoroughly enjoyed the amenities which includes a steam room and a sauna. Didn't have time to use their spa treatments, but we will repeat if we are ever in this part of the town.

We had a wonderful stay! Our room was very cute, a beautiful view from our window, we were able to check in 6 hours early which was very helpful! The location of the hotel was perfect! Close to Jordaan, central station, and right on a tram line! The only downfalls were with the AC, it did not cool down the room as much as we needed in order to be comfortable and the shower could have been cleaned a wee bit better upon our arrival. The fan in the bathroom also didn’t clear the steam very well so our towels did not dry if we hung them up in the bathroom overnight. All very picky negatives, I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family and I would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Fantastic location, amazing rooms. Spa was out of service while we were there but they had an alternative for us. Would definitely stay again.

Front desk staff extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast buffet outstanding.

The Swissotel Amsterdam was a lovely place to stay. So central with a tram stop right out the front, and surrounded by hundreds of amazing food vendors. Only short tram rides to museums, Albert Cuyp, the Heineken experience and Jordaan. The staff were extra lovely. The room was a great size and was well air-conditioned for hot days. Would stay again.

Being in the historic district, travellers must know that there is no lift so you must carry your luggage up to your room. Some rooms have air conditioning, ours did not but there was a fan so that helped! The hotel is very walkable to many landmarks, museums, restaurants etc. We walked everywhere but you’re also close to transit to get to those places that are farther away. We only had two days in Amsterdam, so our proximity to those points of interest was paramount.

The location was great. Staff were easy to communicate with when we had travel difficulties. The property was in fine condition
