Breakfast was quality items, even had salmon and charcuterie. It was nice to have a bright clean space for breakfast with art books and art surrounding you. It was nice to have each morning (one less thing to worry about). Great to have snacks at night after the symphony or play when it was too late to go out to eat. Only issue was luke warm- to cool shower water. However, I did not complain to desk as I figured it was a whole floor or building issue(not just my room).

The hotel itself was great. Unfortunately there was construction going on and the flashing police car lights kept me up all night along with occasional sirens and loud equipment

The hotel was nice, staff made it great. The two gentlemen working the concierge were wonderful. I can't remember both of their names, but they were extremely helpful and friendly. Thurston had good happy hour drinks, but it was his whole vibe that made them exceptional! Would have been nice if there was a small store- or even complimentary- necessities for traveling. The front desk was kind and accommodating. The room was clean and spacious. Bathroom could use some updating. We had zero control over the temperature of the water- ranged in the extremes of boiling hot to freezing cold at random and there was no bathroom fan at all. Considering how much this hotel charges this brought the whole experience down. With the hot temperatures outside, not being able to take a relaxing shower was enough to sour the hotel stay over the course the multiple day stay. The hotel provided two complimentary bottles of water- $8 charge for the other. I feel like it should have been based on occupancy, in our case 3 comp bottles, so each person started their day with one. We were able to get a cup of ice water from the bar as needed. This wasn't a deal breaker, and probably would have gone unmentioned had the bathroom situation been better. At this point it was just "one more thing". I can't say we would stay again. I wouldn't want to risk the water temperature experience again. Although, the rest of our experience was nice.

The hotel lobby and shops were beautiful, and the access to the Alamo and shopping center were great! The hallways and elevators seem more like an old hotel with some bandaids on it to make it seem nicer. I know it’s historic, but I just think for the price it should have been nicer. The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable, and we couldn’t get the room a good temp, it was either hot or cold. The location is amazing tho!
