Mougon-Thorigné Pet-friendly Vacations

As a family of four with a 6-year-old and 8-year-old, staying in a 2-bedroom villa was ideal for us. It was spacious, clean and afforded us the privacy we wanted. The hotel amenities were super: a huge outdoor heated pool, bikes to borrow to explore the grounds of the neighbouring chateau and indoor spa (and pool) facilities. It was wonderful to enjoy an indulgent breakfast every morning and we dined in at the hotel’s restaurant one evening, outside on the terrace. All in all a wonderfully spoiling three nights’ stay at Domaine de la Bretesche. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable and memorable! We would definitely recommend and hope to return one day.

The only thing going for this place is its location; the value for money is average given the service provided (nobar, no spa, no breakfast...). I wouldn’t recommend it for a long weekend Staff were rarely available: check-in on Saturday from 5pm and reception closed from 7pm + closed on Sunday and Monday Accommodation was fairly functional but the toilets are on the ground floor and the bedrooms upstairs + only one of the two beds was made up + the front door was very difficult to open Cold swimming pool, changing rooms with wet and slippery floors; No steam room available as it had to be booked (no information provided). No breakfast available even when requested before 6 pm (arrived at 5 pm – very tight schedule, especially when you have to make the bed, but no flexibility at reception even though it wasn’t yet 6 pm!!!) had to carry our own laundry (very heavy bag) to the entrance of the rental pedestrian gate impossible to open (couldn’t report it as reception was closed)...

Fantastic property, amazing apartment with beach view, well appointed and right across the street from the beach. Owners are there to welcome you and help you with anything. We had a great time and will definitely be back.

The lounge and garden areas are lovely. Our bedroom was rather "eclectic" in that the loo and the shower seemed to have been fitted into spaces that must have originally been alcove/wardrobe spaces! Everything was clean - and we were only there for one overnight stop so not a problem - but would not choose a standard double room for a longer stay (was the only room left available we made our last minute booking). But staff friendly - good (paid) parking - which we are glad we took as public car park had a market the next day (Saturday) and we would have been towed away!

Beautifully appointed property, friendly and helpful staff. Well designed and kept garden, a real green oasis. Just few steps from the beach. Restaurant serves great breakfast and dinner was delicious, the best dinner from all places we visited in La Baule.
