I had originally booked a single room. Within 24 hours of booking I called to change the room to a double as my husband was also able to join me and we needed a bigger room. It took about 10 days for them to give us an answer as the manager was only on property from 9am and sometimes left around 2 or 3 pm local time and only on weekdays and didn’t address the situation through email either. This delay cost us about $1000 in added flight cost as the prices went up as we kept waiting to get a response. When we arrived I mentioned this upon checking in but the person shrugged it off with a simple sorry. In addition the air conditioning was very noisy and even though I complained two times nothing was done to fix it. Overall it was not a pleasant experience.

Absolute gem of a hotel.Spacious room.Naomi at reception was amazing. Gave us loads of recommendations and help to move around the city. Only thing was the air was a free standing one and the toilet was tiny.

The guest services person took an order for room service for the second morning as we had to leave before the breakfast opened. Instead of a blueberry muffin, I received blueberry pancakes. Instead of a small mango/yogurt parfait, I received a dish of some kind of yogurt and a dish of mangos. Needless to say, I did not eat breakfast. The best thing about the hotel was the location. We have stayed in and loved other Mandarin Orientals. This was not up to their standards.

Iconic, whimsical decor by famous Amsterdam designer. Love it. The restaurant on location is also quite good.

Very disappointing and distressing experience. On one night we returned to the hotel at around 1am and discovered that our key cards would not let us into the HOTEL BUILDING itself. Our cards appeared to have been set to expire a day early, despite our checkout being the following day. We repeatedly rang the entrance buzzer, but nobody answered because reception closes at 11pm. We also tried the mobile key, which initially wasn’t working either. We were two women standing outside alone at 1am. It was dark, the surrounding streets were virtually empty, and we had no way of knowing how we were going to get inside or who could help us. We felt extremely unsafe, vulnerable and genuinely abandoned. Eventually, after repeatedly trying the mobile key, it finally worked and we managed to enter. However, guests should NEVER be left unable to access the hotel they have paid to stay in, particularly in the middle of the night with no staff available to assist. This wasn’t simply an inconvenience with a room key — we were locked outside the entire hotel. If reception closes at 11pm and the hotel relies on electronic access overnight, there needs to be a reliable emergency solution when that access fails. What should have been an enjoyable stay became an extremely stressful and frightening experience. I would not feel comfortable staying here again because I would not trust that I could safely access the hotel late at night.

Great location, tram stop situated outside the hotel and Den Haag and Scheveningen. Staff at the hotel were really helpful. Great bar, restaurant and lobby situated at the Hotel. Would certainly stay again when we look to travel back.

Perfect hotel, nice little touches everywhere. Location was fab. The only downside was the parking and finding the location. This needed to be communicated prior to our arrival. We drive around for nearly an hour trying to find the access point by car.

Poor Lighting, room seemed dark. Sound proofing not so good, we could hear everything in the room above us and rooms beside us. Sound proofing would make it alot more of a comfortable stay. Overall, love the decor and the bathroom area was lovely. Do note some areas of paint that needs touching up and additional sealant on some of the tiles. Amazing location, within tram stations, and walkable to canals.
