This hotel was in a great location with direct access to the river walk. It was a short walk to the Alamo, western art museum, and other nearby attractions. They had a bar and restaurant on-site which made it convenient to grab food and drinks. Our room was very spacious and the AC worked great.

This was my first stay in the North Towers in nearly 30 years, and I really enjoyed rediscovering its character. The high ceilings, rounded corners, heavy wooden doors, and even little quirks like the light switch inside the closet were a treat. These details are increasingly rare and give the hotel a charm that newer properties simply cannot reproduce. Even the elevators were surprisingly fast for an older building! The longtime staff also stood out. You could sense their pride and appreciation for the hotel and its history. The entrance, however, needs immediate attention. It may be the only hotel on the Strip where you actually drive onto the sidewalk and directly under the canopy. That is a unique and grand arrival experience that should be celebrated, but having entrance doors that don't work properly takes away from it. A few thoughtful changes could make a big difference. Warmer hallway lighting would better complement the historic architecture; the current bright white lighting takes away from the elegance. The check-in area could also use some brightening, and while I understand the need for vending machines, their glaring lights should be made less conspicuous. The AC could have been stronger, but overall I loved returning. Please preserve the history and charm rather than modernizing it away. With some thoughtful care, this grand old hotel could truly shine again.
