Beautiful resort with wonderful staff. Shoutout to one of the waitresses Miriam who was sure to take care of my sister and I during lunch and dinner meals (at the beach restaurant and the buffet). I had an easy check-in process, food was delicious, took advantage of all the amenities and the evening shows were amazing. Would definitely visit again.

This was the second time staying at Barcelo Bavaro. On my previous stay we were greeted with a drink and damp face cloth. This time we were not but this time check-in only took 5-10 minutes. We were able to book 3 a la carte restaurants for our 5 day stay. The concierge was very friendly and helpful. Remember, you are visiting a Spanish speaking country. It goes a long way to learn some simple phrases in Spanish. We shouldn't expect everyone to speak English. I've seen that complaint many times and it's not fair to assume that they all speak English. Our room was located by the golf course and was clean, quiet and kept well stocked. We did not book premium or ocean view rooms and honestly we didn't miss it. We were only in our room to shower and sleep so the view wasn't really important. We were in building 8 which is directly across the street from the lobby. We didn't need to use the train to go back and forth, just a less than 5 minute walk. The pools were clean and inviting. We didn't have any trouble finding lounge chairs. The pool bar was convenient. The food was great at the restaurants and average at the buffet. Keep in mind this is not a 5 ⭐ resort but it's definitely a great place to stay. Strikers sports bar is a great place to hang out with the bartenders Jose, Eduar, and Wilson. The nighttime shows are decent but the seating is very uncomfortable. The pool side and beach entertainment was great during the day. I would definitely visit again.
