Quaint German Hotel. Great restaurant. We had a fantastic dinner the night of check-in. Unfortunately, we did not stay as we encountered what looked like cockroaches in our room and when we approached the front desk were told "they are not cockroaches" "they are wood bugs from the garden". In this day and age with the internet giving identification capabilities instantly I read "cockroach" and was on the way out. The girl at the front desk then gave me a room in the front of the Hotel w/o a "Garden Room" window. This room had been smoked in and with my asthmatic condition I could not stay especially when I found the same bugs under my nightstand. Come to find out (when I got back stateside) these are Ectobius vittiventris. the Amber Wood Cockroach, Amber Forest Cockroach, or Garden Cockroach. Which are not a storage pest, and completely harmless to humans as they feed only on decomposing plant. Without window screens and no A/C they will be there. I went back the next morning (after finding a great clean bugless hotel at midnight a short drive away) asking for a refund and was summarily dismissed and denied. I did not stay in the Hotel nor eat the "great breakfast" I paid for. Had the management (very combatant) not been insistent the bugs were not cockroaches; and better informed me, I would have stayed and not lost close to a thousand dollars!

Quiet, well-maintained hotel very close to S Bahn. I would stay again. Breakfast was very good. The fan provided in this very hot weather was quite noisy.

The Kempinski was excellent. An amazing property right on one of the most impressive streets in Munich! The one thing we didn’t love was the pool…the water was a bit chilly for our taste, especially after coming from warm heated pools at another property in southern Bavaria. We did also ask 3 times for our twin beds to be pulled apart (friends traveling); once in the booking, once at check in and a 3rd time later that same evening. We eventually did it ourselves, which is regrettable to report at such a high end property. Despite that, a very lovely stay. We also appreciated the complimentary champagne at check in, just what the doctor ordered after a long train ride to Munich and local transfers on the tram with our bags!

This hotel was near the fair grounds and made getting to and from Oktoberfest easy! Staff was helpful and kind!

The staff was exceptionally friendly and polite. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the A/C worked perfectly. The hotel is in a very central location close to the train station and all major tourist attractions. I enjoyed my stay so much that I’ll be back in three weeks.

The listing shows 24 hour airport shuttle as part of the amenities but that was not a service offered. Also, they charge 10 euro for housekeeping which I though was excessive

The front desk staff were all excellent, spoke fluent English, and very helpful in providing directions for getting around town during our stay. The rooms were only "ok"; could never get shower to drain properly nor got maid service/fresh supplies (e.g. towels/toilet paper) in room over our 3-night stay.

Great location and very convenient for sightseeing. The hotel is close to many popular attractions and places to visit, which made exploring the area easy and enjoyable. I would definitely stay here
