Hotel was great but elevators were a nightmare. A HS convention and the place was overcrowded with elevators down.

This is my preferred hotel when I travel to New York City

A lovely, iconic property in a great location for restaurants, theater, sightseeing. Hotel was in the process of starting a new reservation system, was seriously unprepared for it, and significantly understaffed causing delays at check in that were incredibly long. It took us 2 visits to the front desk and 90 minutes before getting access to our rooms. Excusing mistakes and software glitches is one thing, but the staff did not deal with it well. They apologized profusely and repeatedly, but no other response. For example, no offer of water or a drink while in line, no offer of a breakfast or a coffee for our trouble; no offer of a drink in the bar, etc. For the price of a room ($800+), one expects a bit more respect and responsiveness. Kudos to Henry (valet/bellman) and Medy (concierge desk) who were most helpful and apologetic.

This hotel was amazing. Everything was clean, staff was very friendly and helpful, and I was overall very impressed. The View restaurant was such a fun concept, wonderful views with good food and drinks! Great location as well.

There were stains on the curtains/walls/furniture, the room never cooled off. One of the 2 elevators wasn’t working for 2 days leading to people waiting 15-20 mins outside in the rain. The rooms need refreshing. It was much more visually appealing 3 years ago.

What a gem!! Room generous in size and very well maintained. Staff at the desk and door were terrific. Lots of choices for good food in the neighborhood and easy to get a cab or hop on to the subway. We shall return.

Was a great location! Very clean and comfortable. Good breakfast also.
