Super room, mini bar with free drinks. Lovely bed and bathroom. Breakfast was great. Good location for shopping.

We enjoyed our stay at the Golden Tulip. It was very clean and well maintained. It was convenient for us visiting relatives as it was halfway to their place and train station plus within walking distance to a gelato place, the Helmond Castle, a Catholic church, coffee shops, Hema store and Jumbo (supermarket. The air conditioning was welcome with the high temperatures. The room was spacious for two adults. I am not a fan of the bathrooms with half door, but the bathroom was large enough. The one negative was no air conditioning in restaurant so we did not eat there. There was a restaurant around the corner that had Italian food and we were able to order ice water.

Have used this hotel before on a few occasions when visiting family. Location is excellent, near to motorway and in the forest. Parking always available and no extra charge. Rooms are well equipped with good aircon and all staff are really nice and friendly. I felt on this stay the breakfast wasn’t the same excellent quality I’ve experienced before and the breakfast area seemed to be understaffed. The room allocated to me was clean but not spotless as I’ve had when staying previously. Just felt as though the person cleaning did not have enough time to get the bathroom clean or the grime doesn’t come off. Would always book again though.

Pro's: :This hotel is in a nice area & about a 10min walk from a tram stop, shops & restaurants. :Buffet breakfast was lovely, varied choices & fresh. :Stayed in an "Executive" room which had a walk-in shower. Minibar drinks are "included" in the room rate & are replaced every day. Con's: :Apon arrival (approx 9pm) we were "directed" to check-in on a machine. No personal touch, no "welcome to the Bilderberg" etc. :We only realised that the restaurant was closed during our stay due to a sign in the lift (would of been nice if a person told us that, so they could direct us to other establishments in the area). :The "included" minibar drinks only gave you a choice of 4 soft drinks (bottle of still & spring water, bottle of Pepsi sugar free & normal). The drinks were all glass bottles, with metal caps so you need a bottle opener but one was not provided. We were told the hotel does not put them in the room as guests may "steal them". :When asked if we could have change the spring water to a 2nd bottle of still was told no. Against hotel policy. :Breakfast - the downside they had 1 person working/cooking in the kitchen - which meant that it could be awhile for items to be replaced. This hotel classes itself as "luxury" but it's the personal touch that makes the difference & it was sadly lacking. Not having the flexibility to change a bottle of water is an example. The area outside our windows was unkempt & strewn with weeds. Not 5* or luxury.

Great hotel, spotlessly clean, staff were accommodating, river to the front and easy to walk in to the city centre. Good restaurants and bars close by and coffee machines, kettle, iron, hairdryer etc provided. Will stay here again next time I’m in town.

Our stay at this hotel was absolutely wonderful from beginning to end. The staff was incredibly welcoming, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. Check-in was quick and seamless, making us feel right at home as soon as we arrived. The room was spotless, spacious, and beautifully maintained, with a very comfortable bed and all the amenities we needed. The hotel’s facilities were excellent, and every area was clean and well cared for. We especially appreciated the attention to detail and the relaxing atmosphere throughout our stay. The location was also perfect, making it easy to explore the surrounding area while still enjoying a peaceful and comfortable place to return to each day. What truly made this hotel stand out was the exceptional customer service. Every staff member we encountered went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for outstanding service, comfort, and value. We will definitely be returning on our next visit!
