I’m sad to report that this Fairmont was a real disappointment. The check in process was a huge mess - big waits and I got misinformation about many things regarding our stay. The room itself, which was an “upgraded” room (not exactly sure of the Fairmont’s definition of that ) had a shower, Nespresso coffee maker and TV that did not work properly. We phoned reception as soon as we got into the room and noticed these things, and sadly, the staff seemed very familiar with hearing these particular complaints. We had too “reboot” the nespresso machine before each use (crawl under the furniture to pull out and then replig a big industrial power cord!) and the TV was just a frustrating disaster. There were no channel guides or information about what channel/network is showing which program (you just have to try all 70 channels to find something you like!) and the remote barely responded (what fun in the evening - keep pressing and pressing!). The exterior of desk in our room was damaged, the shower was the old tub shower (not renovated) and the bathtub was slippery so you had to stand on a towel while showering! Finally: This is a small thing but we got a single “welcome” chocolate (in the shape of a tiny cowboy hat) but we were 2 people in the room. So we enjoyed a half small cowboy hat each. This is not at all what Fairmont usually has to offer. I will not be recommending this hotel, nor returning. This property really needs to upgrade itself.
