Korendijk Cheap Vacations

For a hotel that markets itself as business-friendly, I was quite surprised about a couple crucial things: the internet connection was slow and unstable. A couple important online meetings I had dropped because of this and it was highly frustrating. Also, for the day we checked out, I needed to take some other calls after checkout time. I was told by the staff that I had to pay €7 per hour to use the business area if I wasn’t staying overnight that night. I find this ridiculous, since the checkout time is at 11 am and only needed to work until 1pm, and I was a guest at the hotel the previous nights.

The property was clean and pleasant inside. Breakfast was not included for the absurd price (I think all of Amsterdam is this way now with high costs for hotels). Another downside was check-in was at 4pm! That's later than many hotels we have stayed at. Most are 2pm. We had to go straight from a flight to sightsee and who wants to have to do that! Staff were friendly enough and they kept our luggage. The check in time was the major issue we had.

My red flag is that they should have breakfast included with the price and not as an extra. But also there were fruit flies flying around the bread but whatever there are starving children that would be grateful otherwise. I’m a simple customer and I make the best out all my experiences. The neighborhood around is beautiful. It’s convenient that the location is midpoint between Amsterdam and Zandvoort beach. The shower was good and I slept like a newborn. Staff were sweethearts though. My only thing is that for a family of four with two kids, expect to pay 45 euro extra, that’s two buffets and two continental breakfasts. Also don’t use the toilet downstairs if you have to go number 2, it’s clogged. I would stay again if the price is right and breakfast is actually included and not extra.

Everything about this property is unique and next level. Right away the staff was great and got us acquainted with our room and gave us a small tour of the property. Nicknamed the garden room, our room was themed after a doctor that created the modern hospital. In it, was a marvelous (and kinda creepy) life sized metal skeleton artwork. The shower area opened to a private patio where we ate the delicious included breakfast. And the highlight was the trick bed, that hid the nightstand, safe, coffee bar, refrigerator, and 55” tv. Overall great location, amazing and friendly staff, and very good recommendations for food and our boat tour. It’s about a block from a street trolley station which took us conveniently in the two directions we always wanted to go. Stayed in hundreds of hotels throughout the years, this is top 5 because it’s so weirdly awesome.

El desayuno es extremadamente caro para la oferta. El baño de la habitación, lo intentaron hacer tan moderno que es un auténtico anti diseño. Cuando te duchas tienes que salir mojado para tomar la toalla y secarte al lugar donde ya tienes el aire acondicionado, perfecto para pillar una gripe. No me gustó la habitación en cuanto a funcionabilidad.

Great breakfast, open early enough and late enough. Lovely bar with cocktails for the evening that also did bits of food.
