East Coast Beach Vacations

Rooms: We were initially assigned a room on the first floor that was subpar. It had a noticeable musty odor, poor air conditioning, and overall lack of cleanliness. The bathroom was in a similar state, with stagnant water pooling in the shower. To make matters worse, we encountered cockroaches in the room, which forced us to request a room change. Customer Service: The service here is a hit-or-miss. Some staff members were quite rude and made us feel like we were bothering them whenever we asked for assistance. On a positive note, a few employees were lovely, such as Jessica at the bar and Martina at the buffet. Additionally, the check-in process took incredibly long due to an seemingly outdated system; expect significant delays if you arrive after a large group of people. Food & Amenities: On the bright side, the food was generally very good at both the buffets and the restaurants. The overall amenities are also in decent condition, though it was disappointing that half of the main pool was closed for renovations during our stay. Overall: We left feeling highly disappointed given the price we paid. We have no intentions of returning and cannot recommend this hotel.

To say I am very disappointed is an extreme understatement. My wife and I booked our stay with the Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana for our honeymoon in hopes of relaxation and enjoying a very casual dining experience at the as advertised food hall buffet they have in their listing. Upon arrival, we come to find this is not open and our only option is to have sit down dinners every night and have to dress up. After planning a 2 year wedding, we just wanted a very casual experience all around to relax and not have to worry. The first night, we try ordering room service as we were tired and didn’t want the hassle of dressing up for dinner. 2 hours, no show and to boot a $10 fee for room service? Especially being booked in the “Vantage Club” suites, we should not incur a service fee especially when we are very generous in tipping staff. This resort has excellent bar staff and activities teams but a lot of work is needed to get it to be a “5 Star Resort” like it’s advertised. If you open, even after delaying and not telling people, that should mean you’re 100% open and if you not, say that. Hyatt will have to work extremely hard to bring us back as customers as they completely missed the mark in meeting our expectations and handling our displeasure when notified it. Truly will think twice in the future before booking with Hyatt.
