On first appearance the entrance & lobby were lovely. Check in was simple. However, our room wasn't great. The smell in the room was awful, bad sewerage smell. The whole floor had the smell. We mentioned this to reception & they just said thanks for letting them know. If we had been staying more than one night we would have asked for a different room. The location was good however and even though we we overlooked the road there was little noise. Such a shame about the smell, they seriously need an overhaul of their plumbing.

We had a nice stay at The Franklin. Our only real complaint was that the room, a Garden Suite, looked nothing like what is advertised either on Expedia or the hotel's website. The room was nice, it just didn't look anything like what were expecting. The overall service at the hotel was excellent.

We recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately it did not meet expectations. The property looks far better on the website than it does in person. We booked an "executive room." The website suggests a modern, well‑maintained space, with nice views and larger bathrooms.
The room we were given needed updating, the bathroom was very uncomfortable with minimal counter space and no double sinks as depicted on the photographs. The nice views from the web site turned out to be an old decrepit escape hatch (see picture).
Overall, this stay fell significantly short of what we expected based on the website.
