Okinawa Prefecture Adventure Vacations

Buyer beware. The advertising all says there will be discounts on meals with a reservation the day before. The advertising includes discounted rates for holidays. HOWEVER, the hotel did NOT honor their own advertising and charged full price at the cash on holidays. We challenged this unsuccessfully. ALSO: breakfasts had virtually no variation from day to day (unheard of for other hotels in Okinawa at this price point), and the hotel would only give us ONE of the TWO free drinks promised by Expedia. The staff were generally friendly, and we liked our room, but the issues we experienced appeared to be systematic. We will NOT be going back. I'd advise you to think twice about going as it's stressful to not feel good about eating at the hotel restaurant and therefore feel that you have to leave to eat, rather than staying in if that's what you'd prefer.

Very spacious room, helpful staff (we met Michael and the French chef at the breakfast restaurant, they are really helpful and cheerful), wonderful view Except one of the staff at the reception assumed asian (myself) should speak Mandarin, cos he only knows Japanese and Mandarin, but very little English. My husband is from England and the staff insisted to speak to me in Mandarin. I guess as a paid customer we will have to do what's convenient for the staff not the other way round right? I hold a hk passport doesn't mean I HAVE to speak Mandarin or know this language. Never Assume, we speak Cantonese in HK.

Beautiful beach and pool area in a quiet area. Hotel is pretty far from town and food options, but there is a restaurant there. Pool is cold and closes at 4:00 in the winter. Every amenity and activity at the hotel cost extra, which is odd, be cause you should be able to use their indoor relaxation pool (the only heated pool), mini golf, tennis courts, kayaks etc without having to pay additional fees. You can buy a field pass that's good for your whole stay and includes tennis, mini golf, and standard bikes, along with a 50% discount to use the indoor pool. However, the field house where you can buy the pass is closed by check in, so you can't buy it the first day you are there. Also, the lifeguard requires lifejackets in the swim area and he wouldn't let us snorkel beyond the swim area where all of the fish are. Felt very restrictive, but the beach was beautiful just to relax on.

Overall the stay was good. The hotel grounds are beautiful and it was a comfortable stay! The best part of this hotel was the spa, which was excellent. However, I must say that this hotel is currently no longer a 5-star hotel. But that could be fixed with renovations to the rooms. They are outdated and have visible stains on furniture and floor. If the hotel renovated the rooms it would certainly be a a 5-star hotel again.

Great in hotel shops, food & pastries. Great breakfast buffet. They even had outside vendors come in. We really enjoyed most everything there. Major problem we had was the mattresses were terrible. Basically a spring frame with a half inch of material on it so you could feel the springs in it. They gotta change the mattresses. Then the a/c went out @ midnight. Didn’t have it checked since we were checking out. Also we got massages there. Different than a western massage. You keep your clothes on & they do pressure points. I thought it was still good but the others in the group didn’t enjoy it as much.
