This hotel was classic Bavarian… Everything was excellent. Will recommend this hotel to all traveling in the Salzburg area.

Junior suite was insanely hot (with no air conditioning) as staff didn't use the sun blind. After booking we got an email saying that the kids couldn't use the indoor pool (contrary to the hotels.com app listing showing "Indoor pool" in the Kids Friendly section of the listing). Outdoor pool crowd obviously didn't like children - on both occasions we used the outdoor pool several left shaking their heads. Several things in the room and hallway were broken. Breakfast was as expected for this level but we had literally stacks of plates on our table at one point as nobody removed them. Breakfast staff all looked miserable. The evening restaurant and staff were excellent - would struggle to recommend the hotel but the restaurant is definitely worth a visit. Overall, the price/performance ratio, mostly unhelpful staff, and non-child friendly environment made this one not for us.

The room was clean and well presented, lots of space, I stayed in the double classic and the beds were very comfy. The staff were always happy to help with questions and worked with a smile and nothing was too much. We arrived back late hungry after an event and they even cooked us a snack. The food was always full of flavour and freshly cooked and would advise eating at the restaurant if you get chance. We booked a massage and the guy was great, the massage too. The views were great but make sure to reserve the sun beds in the view club if you want a space to and relax with the view, otherwise the seats are comfy enough and there's other places in the sun on the top floor without the pool. The location is perfect, 30min bus ride to the city with the bus stop across the road or a little further up. The airport is a 5 or 10 min drive, and whilst its on a busy road, you have the views of the mountains but the opportunity to venture to the city which doesnt take long. There is a gym, it does need a little update but there's enough there to do a work out, but if there were more than 2 people wanting to do weights you may need to rotate in, however the view is nice too.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hotel Sallerhof and highly recommend it to anyone. The hotel is immaculately maintained, cleaned with care each day, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is plentiful and genuinely tasty, all set within a quiet, peaceful village surrounded by beautiful views. Salzburg is an easy bus ride away, with buses stopping right outside the hotel entrance. The Salzburg Mobility Pass provided by the hotel covers public transport throughout the region for the duration of your stay, making it effortless to explore. The location also makes day trips simple - the stunning Lake Königssee in nearby Germany, for example, took me less than an hour by bus. The staff are exceptionally friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about offering good hospitality. I’ve never returned to the same place twice before, but I fully expect - and hope - to come back to the Sallerhof regularly.
