The capsules are private so i liked that - showers were very good and plenty of toilets. There are really no common spaces to hang out. A few chairs on patio and few throughout hostel. Was very quiet and mixed aged guests. Zurich itself is amazing and the location of this hostel is superb

Staff were not welcoming at all and did not explain anything to me about the property or rules. Then before checkout I was in my bed with shoes in front of the bed, clearly visible and the housekeeping staff yanked open the curtain. It was an okay stay but the staff made it uncomfortable.

I stayed in the Women's only section which I thought would be behind a locked door, but rather was a curtained off section of the main room. I wish the lockers had been in the room rather than having to go out to the lobby area to grab my stuff each time, but it felt safe. I do wish there was someone at reception at all times, to give suggestions or help when needed.

Better than expected 😁

It is a capsule hotel and as such, I was not looking for the last word in luxury but Green Marmot still managed to excel with wonderful staff who were friendly and accomodating. I was there for just one night. Everything was clean. The shower cubicles are small but sufficient and towels are supplied. The cubicles are plywood which is nicer than the plastic ones I have seen in the past. Aside from a light, there was also a power point to charge my phone. The mattress was adequate and linen clean. The foyer had a coffee machine that accepted cards or cash and the coffee was quite passable.

Quieter than many hostels. Non smoking even at the door. Receptionist was very polite and fast. The capsule is well ventilated and comfy. Bathrooms, showers and sinks are spotless clean and well maintained. I highly recommend.

Living at the DT of Zurich, the price of this Capsule Hotel is much lower than other hotel. Great location, walkable to everywhere. The shower is great, but no shampoo or shower gel. For sure, you couldn't sleep very well in this mixed capsule hotel because so many people are in one room. Must keep quiet all the time. Anyway, because of the low price and the great location, I was very happy for the two nights i stayed.

Functional but hot

It did the job, given the fairly low price for Zurich. Bed capsule area is quite small but separate locker was big enough. Very warm at night (outside temperature had been about 30 degrees C in the day though) and this meant windows were open at night, which in turn meant noise early in the morning. Showers were fine, but small.

Perfect for a solo traveler

The bed was comfortable and clean. Check in was simple and the storage lockers had plenty of space. The shower and toilets were roomy with hardly anyone crammed on top of each other. This hostel is no frills. No bar or common area to mingle with others. It’s perfect for a place to sleep without friends. The provided towels are small. There is a towel drying rack available to use.

Ok, for a night but not more than that.

It was ok. The beds are comfortable but it’s a hostel and the only separation is a curtain. No security between the men’s /women’s area. You store your bags in a locker in the lobby so it feels like you’re doing the walk of shame just to brush your teeth. The room area smells pungent and like dirty socks. The bathroom is rough and not in the best of conditions. No soap and mold in the showers. Very tiny dressing area. Not my favorite hostel for $60/night but it is what it is for 12 hours between trains.

While there is nothing outright dishonest in the description or photos, they really don't do a very good job explaining what it's actually like to stay here. The experience is a lot closer to a hostel than a hotel, and even judged as a hostel, this place is severely lacking in amenities. The "capsules" are really nothing more than claustrophobic bunks. There are over 50 bunks in a single room. This means that your chances of not having a sorer in your room are basically zero. The only common space in the entire place is the lobby, which is very sparsely furnished. If all the lobby chairs are taken, you have nowhere to sit down but your capsule, where you have to be extremely quite because again, 50 bunks in one room so odds are no matter the time somebody's sleeping. There are no tables or desks available for guests to use. The bathrooms were very hot and humid, and a single pair of male and female bathrooms serves all 50 bunks. The showers don't have any dressing area, so you're expected to get dressed in the shower stall's vestibule, which doesn't even have enough room to turn around without stepping into the shower itself. The lockers are all in the lobby, which makes them annoyingly far from the bunks. Compare this to a hostel, where you'll often find a common room, and bunks separated into smaller dorms, each with their own bank of lockers and bathroom. Not only that, but a typical hostel will be much cheaper than this capsule "hotel".

The Green Marmot Hotel in Zurich has a lot of potential; it’s in a central location and offers a budget-friendly capsule experience that sounds appealing on paper. But in reality, the hotel suffers from poor organization and design choices that make the stay more frustrating than enjoyable. First off, the layout is inconvenient. The luggage lockers are in a completely different area from the sleeping capsules. This forces guests to go back and forth unnecessarily,pick your clothes from one space, go shower somewhere else, then get dressed and finally walk again to where you sleep. It’s disjointed and inefficient. Why not have the lockers near the sleeping pods, or at least in the same area? The sleeping capsules themselves are another issue. Instead of having doors or solid shutters, they only come with a thin, see-through curtain. This means there’s little to no real privacy, especially with hallway lighting and other guests walking past. A proper capsule should allow you to feel enclosed and secure,not exposed. Then the walls are thin so can easily hear from your neighbors! The showers were especially annoying. They’re tiny,barely enough space to turn around or bend—and they use fixed, overhead rain-style heads. This forces you to wash your hair whether you want to or not. A simple hand shower would give guests more control and comfort, especially when you just want a quick wash. To make things worse, the hotel doesn’t offer any real support for early arrivals.
