The house was exceptionally located for us to walk into York to enjoy the Christmas Market. There were some treats waiting for us which we enjoyed and thought was a nice touch. The check in process was clear, and we even received a phone call the day before making sure that we had received the check in details and if we had any questions regarding our stay, which again, was a nice touch. The house is well decorated, and we loved the American size refrigerator with ice maker, which as an American, I was very happy about and used a lot!! We would definitely recommend this property and would stay here again when we travel back to visit York again.

Beautiful & well-equipped house inside the city wall

The owners have done a great job. The house is beautifully and tastefully decorated and has everything you could need. The location was perfect - seconds from the wall and under 5 minutes’ walk to the city centre.

Great location nice place

We met the grandparents here. They drove but we did it by train. You could easily do York without a car if you stayed here. We walked everywhere including from the train station. I liked how close it was to the wall but it was a quiet location.

Perfect York Stay

This is a great family home within easy walking distance of the city centre. Comfy beds, big fluffy towels, and a very relaxing environment. We loved our stay here!

A fabulous spot!

I can't imaging a better spot to be in York. A short walk to everything while in a very quiet neighbourhood on a cute little street. The flat was modern and had excellent features and a lovely kitchen. Six of us were comfortable. Having 3 bathrooms was great. The third floor bedroom had very creaky floors over the main bedroom. I would definitely rent this flat again. We all loved it!

Great Property, Great Host, Great Location

The property was perfect for all our needs, kitchen was lovely and beds and baths all spacious, modern and clean. The host helped us out right after we arrived as we were inept with Skeleton keys :-). The location was fantastic, with access to the city wall at the end of the street as well as access to the old city, museums, galleries and shops a short walk over the bridge. We absolutely recommend this property and our thanks to the host for their lovely home and and lots of great information. Joanne

Fabulous introduction to York

This pristine property was perfectly located in York, just a short walk away from so many destinations and attractions, including the wall. My 3 sisters and I, all 45+ years old, found the home welcoming and comfortable during our stay. When we return to York, we would definitely stay here again. Just a gem!!!

This is the perfect home for a visit to York. - immaculately clean and modern. - very quiet - York streets can get pretty noisy at night but this house was super quiet -right in the middle of York. - parking is easy Lovely place to stay.

Modern, Clean and in the Centre of York

Had a wonderful stay at fairfax street and could not recommend this property enough. It was clean, modern and only a 10 minute walk into the centre so extremely convenient. All of the simple things had been thought of like plenty of plates/cutlery, condiments, extension leads, plugs in the right place. To top it off coffee/tea, biscuits and wine provided! It was really helpful to have on street parking. Plenty of spaces however heads up that it is a bit more of a tight squeeze getting out of spaces so choose your space wisely! The only extra touches that would be nice would be a dressing table in the master beadroom and extra bedside table in the attic room. That would just be being very picky though. Thankyou so much for a lovely stay. Also thanks for cleaning so quickly meaning we could check in early. It really meant we could make more of our first day. I would also highly recommend the tomahawk restaurant for anyone that likes steak!

Fantastic weekend away

Fantastic property in a great location. 3 couples away for a Christmas weekend and just loved staying at 48 Fairfax. Will return in the future. York is such a great place for a short break.

Family Stay in York

Could not have asked for more from this property. Perfect for a family of 6 (4 adults + 2 kids). We did not have a car and groceries, sights, train station all very close by. Information on site was extremely helpful. It was a pleasure to return home each day to this cozy house. Would definitely book the same place when returning to York.

A Hidden Treasure in York

This house is superb! From the start, it was clean, spacious and the hosts had provided the essentials to start us off such as bread, milk and a bottle of Pinot Grigio! The location was perfect, less than a 10 minute walk into the heart of York and it was a privilege to stay in their gorgeous house! We will definitely think about staying again next year!

Lovely position

Lovely position, close to station but also only a short walk to most of main attractions so ideal if you don't have a car. Having said that you can park right outside on the road and parking permits were provided. The city wall is only a one minute walk at the end of the road and a great view whilst walking. Inside the home is clean and very comfortable. We were very unlucky with the unusually cold and wet June weather so the electric stove in the living area was most welcome. Another plus was having a downstairs loo in addition to the ensuite and family bathroom. Everything worked efficiently. Would definitely recommend and would love to stay here again and discover more of York. Oh, and finally, would add how peaceful the neighbourhood is.
