We got lucky and they upgraded us to Adult only resort and the infinity pools were beautiful! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Even had an opportunity to swim with the sea turtles right in front of the Palace resort!

We booked for Barcelo Colonial for 7 days and 6 nights but when we arrived we’ve been moved to Barcelo Beach which all the way on the end side. I didn't like that because I booked Colonial for a reason because of kids loving the waterpark in there. Anyway we have to walk almost everyday to go to Colonial to enjoy the waterpark which is not very convenient. The food was not bad but also not great. It's alright, the staff are great very helpful except the front desk not helpful at all and rude. The property is very outdated but I mean it's decent. The beach is the most beautiful in that resort I loved the beach I loved that we were able to do snorkelling with my kids it was amazing. But would will I come back? Maybe but I would book under palace or premium this time.

Expect the best, be prepared for worst. We just came back from a vacation with 9 people. This review is based on the resort/building we stayed in, don't know how the other ones are. We stayed in the Colonial/Jalisco building. Let me start with pros as there are only a few. Like most of the reviews state, the grounds are immaculate and beautiful. The staff is nice and accommodating (although my baseball cap got jacked from the room). The pools are clean and in good condition. The beach is sandy, however, there are rocks on the beach and in the water so either wear water shoes or be careful where you step. The AC in the room was adequate. The food in the buffet was good, no issues with intestinal problems. We also did enjoy the shows in the theater especially the kids on the Fantasia night. Now the cons, where do I start? It seems like the room wasn't updated in ages, as there was mold all over the bathroom (and i'm allergic to it), on the door, shower, floor, you name it (see pictures). The water in both the sink and tub had a very slow drain and the tub plug was broken off. There is no fan in the bathroom so when you take a shower, it steams up like in a sauna (hence the mold, do they not clean it?) Forget getting a pool chair if you're not out there at 6am reserving it by throwing a towel or flip flops and then not showing up till 11 or so. You don't pay to reserve the chair, so a towel on it does not mean it's yours to use. Who does that? It should be firs
