We have been frequent guests at this country hotel, visiting monthly for its exceptional restaurant, appealing location, pleasant ambience, and excellent food and settings. These qualities have consistently made it our preferred destination and treated friends and family members to join us.
Regrettably, our most recent experience was disappointing and differed significantly from previous visits. During breakfast, we were met with an unexpectedly firm and unwelcoming attitude from Maria, a member of the staff. Despite the kitchen still being open, we were refused a hot breakfast at 9a.m., and her explanation for this decision was neither clear nor satisfactory. While we appreciate that the hotel may have been particularly busy due to a conference, the manner in which this was communicated did not reflect the warmth and hospitality we have come to expect.
Additionally, the food served to my son was noticeably below the usual standard: the portion was half its usual size and the single egg provided was overcooked and unpalatable. This stood in stark contrast to our past positive experiences, where service and meal quality have always been excellent.
While we continue to value the hotel’s many strengths, we were sincerely disappointed by this recent encounter, which was unfortunately marred by an uncharacteristically hard attitude and diminished food quality.
