Beachgoers return year after year to enjoy Wildwood’s large, pristine beaches and the unique atmosphere of the place many consider to be the birthplace of rock ’n’ roll.
Couples stroll along the boardwalk, enjoying the ocean breeze and numerous cafés and shops. Families enjoy the amusement and water parks while all visitors can’t help but be charmed by Wildwood’s unique style of architecture.
Many of Wildwood’s attractions are situated along the coastline. The primary stretch of beach features the 2-mile (3-kilometer) long Wildwood Boardwalk. As you stroll along the boardwalk stop in at local shops and restaurants. You can also hop aboard the Tramcar, Wildwood’s trackless train system, at numerous points along the boardwalk.
Get some sun on Wildwood Beach, which is known for its large size and pristine sand. Take a short walk inland to Morey’s Piers and Beachfront Waterparks. This family-owned entertainment precinct includes two water parks and three amusement piers, featuring more than 100 rides and attractions.
Create a unique souvenir at Antique Images, a local old-time photo studio. Choose from dozens of props, sets and costumes designed to simulate everything from classic Hollywood to the old west. Spend some time browsing through real historical images at the George F. Boyer Historical Museum. This large museum displays Wildwood’s colorful history and includes hundreds of photo albums.
No matter where you spend your days while in Wildwood, you can’t miss the dozens of hotels that reflect the area’s trademark 1950s “doo-wop” style. This collection of unique buildings is known as the Wildwood Shores Historic District and sets Wildwood apart from other beach resort towns with its “space-age” style. Stop in one of the classic diners and request Rock Around the Clock on a vintage juke box. This early rock ’n’ roll song premiered in Wildwood in 1954 and is the foundation for the city’s reputation as the birthplace of rock ’n’ roll.

Loved the rides! I grew up going to Avon, Point Pleasant, Spring Lake... I had never been to Wildwood before. Honestly Wildwood isn't that much different although the rides are of a higher scale.

October was a great time to visit. Some things were closed, but the weather was amazing and we could really enjoy our time together since there were no crowds.
