「The cottage looks nice in photos and they do keep it as clean as they can; however, it is very rundown. We were bothered by the strong smell of fabric softener (gives us migraines) and mildew. The beds were uncomfortable, the bathroom narrow and dark, and overall, we just had “the creeps” the whole time. So much so that we left early. Honestly, we expected more for the price. You can find better options in the area for what we paid.」

「This is a great location if you want to check out the lake superior Lakeshore, as well as Bayfield and Madeleine Island. Everything is very conveniently located you can walk to most places in Ashland right from the place. The apartment is pretty basic with kitchen items, but enough to do what you need to do. Very comfortable bad and very quiet.」

「Clean bright comfortable stay with a distant view of the lake. Quiet and loved full kitchen and premade ice. Beds very comfortable and great ac for cool sleeping. Good communication from the host. Parking in front of building to unload and to back of stay near recycling area for overnight. Very close to downtown. Highly recommended」

「Historic building with lots of charm, fresh flowers in every room, breakfast was a amazing, staff was very accommodating and helpful with restaurant recommendations and help chartering a sailboat. Located right across the street from a venue with private beach front available for our use. A great, relaxing option for your fall-vibe trip to the Apostle Islands.」

「My first impression was the shed next to the house looked like a meth lab. Not sure if it belonged to the property or not. The house is a work in progress. Not quite the image that the pictures online depicted. No screens on the windows except for one kitchen window..So we didn't get much ventilation. The refrigerator wasn't working well, I had to clean the vents on the back and reset the power to get it to work. I wouldn't stay there again.」

「Our stay was great. Nice little neighborhood. A clean house with plenty of room for our 6 guests and four legged friend. A nice layout to the house and the communication was great. We would definitely stay there again.」

「The property is left unlocked which is a little concerning in today’s environment and we were also told to leave key inside room, meaning we had to leave it unlocked, and unattended when we left. The room with 2 twin beds had 2 windows and neither window locked. Staff quarters also left unlocked so it’s an assumption there’s low crime in the area but leaves it open to potential assault or abuse. No staff on site and not well lit」

「This is a cute little efficiency condo—nicely decorated, clean, and comfortable. I especially loved the location: close to town, yet tucked away in a quiet wooded area, far from the noise and traffic.I only have two minor criticisms, neither of which significantly impacted our stay. First, the window air conditioner seemed either inadequate or not functioning properly, as it didn't cool the room very well. Fortunately, opening the windows provided enough fresh air to make the evening...
