"The new gaming machines upstairs. The games downstairs need to be updated. The room was great. The food was great in the new restaurant."

"My wife and I really enjoyed our stay as the front desk check-in staff were very pleasant and welcoming and the cocktail waitresses were very efficient and friendly. The beach view from our room window was lovely to look out at. The only downside was that the sunbeds and chairs on the sun deck needed recovering"

"Loved the balcony and the room, I was a little nervous at first reading the review but my room was good, it was clean. I loved the closeness to the boardwalk, it was so soothing to view the ocean and the room was so accommodating with a fridge, stove and microwave. The only thing I would revamp is the pool area, but overall I enjoyed my stay, I would stay again."

Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia by IHG

8/10 Good
"Pros: we had the corner king on the 6th floor. Great. No complaints! Wonderful view. Noise on street not a problem because of our time location. Big and comfy. Elevators always accessible. Red Owl Tavern accessible in lobby- great restaurant for breakfast, lunch, dinner. LOCATION to everything about Independence Hall, etc is right out the door. You can’t get better! Complimentary lobby coffee in the morning was very nice. Cons: staff was so so. The man at check out was great. Check in was so so- in between was the same. Asked a question and it seemed an inconvenience to what they were doing- nothing. But, the house keeping was always kind. Elevator needed vacuuming. A glass stayed on the floor lobby table for 3 days before being picked up. The stay WITH BREAKFAST which we paid extra for was a bit deceiving. It was good for $27 a person and included tax and 20% gratuity. The limited menu was nearly impossible to keep in that range if you had a meal AND coffee. We’ve never experienced that before- typically breakfast paid with room means no extra charge. That was a surprise. But, the food at Red Owl Tavern for breakfast was very good as well as service. Summary: we’d stay again, but look better at the additional breakfast while you stay. Might not choose that route knowing what we know. Corner King was a good stay. Worth the extra. Would not stay below 6th floor with trash trucks making a lot of noise in early morning hours. In all we enjoyed Philly with our stay here!"
