「Friendly staff including one who formerly and by sheer coincidence worked at the good old boarding school I proudly attended years ago. Overall, I’m extremely impressed with everything including the high standards location and amenities. Cleanliness were very good apart from some surfaces needed a little dusting and one of the bedroom lamps didn’t work though again, overall the standards are extremely high and I’d certainly recommend future guests and I’d certainly return.」

「Lovely old building, well located and enough parking at the back of hotel in side street. Comfortable bed, room was well maintained, especially the bathroom. Room was spacious enough for one person.」

「Lovely owners who have run this place for over 40 years. It is set back in time, early 80s and an education and experience of that. However does have Wifi and central to the Town. I was upgraded to a larger room with en suite without asking which was a nice touch. Pleasantly surprised with the cost that it included breakfast, I had porridge, fruit juice, cooked breakfast and toast. All floors have stairs which would not be suitable for the less mobile.」

「Our room in the coach house was compact but was very clean, had everything we needed and overall satisfactory. Our room faced the main road so lots of traffic noise. The shower room window had clear glass & faced the car park with only a blind for privacy. Last time we stayed we were in a larger quieter Lapwing room which for us was better. Breakfast was very good food & service. All staff attentive, willing & helpful. Would stay again but aim for Lapwing upgrade.」

「Rooms need modernising, no usb sockets. Bathroom tiles falling off」

「It is a very clean room. Dinner, breakfast is very delicious. It is the third time. It is highly recommended for Japanese people who want to stay at a cute hotel in England. （とてもきれいなお部屋です。夕食も朝食もおいしいです。三度目の宿泊です。日本人の方でイギリスのかわいいお宿に宿泊したい方におススメです。）」

「We used the Hare & hounds as a stopover on our way home but will give serious consideration to returning to explore the Lakes from there」

「Very difficult access for parking」

「Clean airy room .. Friendly staff . Lovely stay . Very happy thank you .」

「They forgot for housekeeping. When I check out, I asked to keep my luggage, but they did not store, they just left at reception desk where i put as it is. No one took care, and I was lucky it was not stolen. Terrible and unbelievable.」
