"This place’s view was stunning. The cabin is exactly as pictured and cozy. The most important factors for us were that it was dog friendly and they had an amazing restaurant on site which was handy because there isn’t much around in terms of dining. This place is worth the drive and the hosts who live on site were accommodating but also gave you space. I would recommend this place to anyone going to the Powell river area"

Heron's Landing Hotel

6/10 Okay

"Location across from the sea walk was nice. Not enough parking to be comfortable that a spot would be available no matter the hour of return to the hotel. Staff helpful to accommodate an early check in which was not anticipated (cleaner prioritized room). Advertised as a boutique hotel, furnishings were more used than antique and the interior state is "tired" which could be easily fixed with paint and a proper clean of windows and balconys. Showers are extremely small, even for a short, slim woman. A chair in the room would be helpful, as furnishings were sparse. Breakfast buffet was good!"

"A beautiful location with excellent views. The unfortunate thing is that they are in the process of renovations. Our room seems to be not quite finished yet, but it has great potential. The property itself could really use some structural renovations and not just cosmetic ones, like the ones they are doing right now."

"Check-in staff were fabulous, but this place is absolutely disgusting. My husband and I travel frequently and have stayed in 2-star to 5-star places; we have never left a hotel before, but we fled this one within an hour. There is a difference between dated and filthy. The "deluxe" room was gross and musty. There were dirt and crumbs in the entryway, a dirty bathroom with rusted fixtures, burn holes in the carpet, and a kitchenette smelling of old grease. The pool area (in a separate building requiring an intercom entry) looked nasty and the water was filthy. The hot tub is permanently covered with wood, and the sauna is padlocked shut with a rusty lock. We went back to regroup and tried to call the desk to ask about a jetted-tub room, but the room phone didn't even have a dial tone. I used my cell, but no other rooms with a jetted tub were available. We checked out immediately. Because we booked via Hotels.com, the front desk couldn't refund us. Hotels.com later contacted the manager, who flat-out refused a refund. Management and ownership should be ashamed. I don't know how they get away with charging $200+ under the Ramada name. We moved to the Naturally Pacific Resort for the same price and it was an immaculate, 5-star contrast. Highly recommend them instead. Do not stay at the Ramada Campbell River. Believe the negative reviews. This is honestly the worst accommodation we have ever seen."

Beach Front Luxury Private Hot Tub Sandy Beach

10/10 Excellent

"Amazing!!!! What a beautiful property! It's a small property but so well laid out that I was amazed at all of the details they thought of! The location is to die for. We watched orcas, seals and eagles from right in front of our Suite. One evening the cruise ships came through. The hosts are probably the best I have ever encountered. So attentive. The property is gated and so secure. Can't say enough good. You will be lucky to get time here! Book early!"
