「This hotel is in a very old Tudor style building with heaps of charm and quirkiness. This is a popular and busy pub/restaurant/hotel. Our room was on the top floor with access by stairs with high risers. The double bedroom was small with only one bedside table and no cupboards and only one stool so it is best suited to a one night stay. The room was clean and tidy with again the charm of an uneven floor which is not a problem just be aware. As the room is close to the roof it can get very warm...

「Amazing break! Staff all friendly. Food in main restaurant was amazing and had a great massage at spa by Hannah. Spa was all lovely and clean and not overcrowded. The only thing was the relaxation room was not open after our massage as we chose the last session. The pastries at breakfast were not worth the calories as a bit stodgy. Other dishes were absolutely amazing. Thanks」

「Room clean and spacious. Nice walk in shower. Be aware the double (Queen) rooms do not have the advertised air conditioning or power shower. The windows do not open enough to get adequate ventilation in hot weather. When you complain at reception, they initially deny they advertise this and blame the booking company for false advertising. Then when you point out it's advertised as having these facilities on their own website, they concede and give you a desktop fan. The latter isn't very helpful...

「It was last minute plan change from my usual stay in old hall not too far from this hotel, just being curious to find another one. Not so sure was that a right decision, Building is beautiful and amazing gland entrance and big room, however, the service is not that good. Bistro is full of student part timers, not many choice for break fast, a bit shaby as high grade hotel. My sister who does not live in UK did not have the idea of having a cold croissant for breakfast put it to toaster which...

「All I can say about this amazing hotel is that it’s simply wonderful. I was deeply impressed by the hospitality of the staff. The castle was so big that I got lost several times, but the staff kindly helped me each time. Even though I didn’t have a restaurant reservation, they still provided breakfast and dinner without any issue, and I’m truly grateful for that. I would definitely love to stay here again on a special occasion.」

「Liked the garden, but it needs a little C&A... Disabled car parking near to our room (No.5) was an excellent bonus. Breakfast was excellent but a bit expensive. Staff were all very courtious and helpful. Direct booking rather than via an agency is preferred. We will certainly be recomending the Lion to our friends and relations and using you again next time we are in the area. The only down sude was the loss of my credidit card - was is handed in to you?? Dennis Cole」
