"Horrible property ! Everything was falling apart and the staff was extremely rude !"

"Front desk staff was very friendly and nice. Coffee shop was really good. The room had some opportunity....the TV did not work and was too late to want to try to call someone to fix it. The lamps were not working and instead of a comforter, there was a blanket that looked like it was very very worn. The bathroom was very spacious and spacious. That all being said, the hotel is within walking distance of many places. "

"Let us begin with the “pros”: The hotel has a great location; and 24-hour front desk service Here are the “cons” - bear with me, they are a lot: - Very dirty. A historic hotel with a vintage vibe does not have to be dingy to highlight its charm. - No hot water. There is a sign to “let the water run for 1-2 minutes”. Yeah… more like 15 minutes to get relatively warm water. - No daily housekeeping (as advertised), even with door handle sign request. When asked, they said it was done after check out, which would be ok, if originally stated. They offered to come and make the room, but they never did. - Broken and dingy furniture. NOTHING in the room was as pictured in the website. See MY pictures to compare. - Entrance is extremely slippery when wet. No entrance carpet. - No parking, or valet - Front desk incompetence. People were nice, but completely ignorant of basic hospitality principles. Questions were answered vaguely, if at all. When we complained about the issues they said “management would get in touch with us”. I am still waiting for that call. - Read the descriptions carefully: Fees are for two guests. Additional guests pay extra. Not recommended for families, AT ALL. No amenities for children (no pool), and we had to put up with MJ smell in the hall all weekend. - Fun fact: Toiletries were from another hotel. What’s up with that?!"

"The owners were engaging and helpful. Ample parking. Rooms are small but adequate. Seating in room uncomfortable... but lobby area provides good seating for happy hour and continental breakfast. Close to pier and multiple dining options"

"This property is an embarrassment to the Marriott brand. I booked one night here for my in-laws due to an emergency, and their experience was a nightmare. They are extremely loyal to Marriott and have held Ambassador Elite status for as long as I’ve known them. They both said this is the worst Marriott property they have ever stayed at. The central AC is not working in most of the rooms. Instead, you’re given a portable AC unit in the room. These units are exactly as noisy and disruptive as you would expect. And here’s the best part: the portable AC is vented through the window. Yes, that means your window is left open all night in the middle of Downtown St. Petersburg. Humidity is a problem, as is outside noise. I’ve lived in St Pete for 13 years. Downtown is always lively, both from nightlife and traffic. This property sits on 4th st, one of the main roads in the city. At 3:00 a.m., there will still be traffic. If this were a roadside motel charging by the hour, maybe this situation would make sense. But this is a Marriott. If a room isn’t up to Marriott standards, it shouldn’t be offered for booking. I don’t enjoy writing negative reviews, but at $394 per night, this one felt necessary. If management is willing to offer rooms in this condition without any warning or proactive accountability, it raises serious doubts about how they handle other issues guests might encounter. I’m sure the staff are doing their best and are probably very kind, but there is simply no excuse fo"

"First time stay at The Hollander and would definitely return. Our king suite room was huge, although I could do without crazy gold/yellow doors. The rooms are dated and furniture was worn but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom had plenty of high quality towels. The best part was having a quiet room with no noticeable noise from other guests. The amenities make up for the less than fabulous room decor. The pool area was FANTASTIC. Lots of lounge chairs and tables with extra large umbrellas. Also many cabanas to rent if you want even more shade. There’s an outdoor pool bar with service available to the entire pool area. We happened to stay on a Monday night and enjoyed the Monday Martini specials ($6 for delicious, full-strength martinis all day). This area was perfect for spending an entire afternoon! There’s a full-service restaurant on site that was very popular. We enjoyed breakfast sitting on the outdoor porch. All of the staff were super friendly and parking was free. Really appreciated for a downtown location We didn’t stay long enough to use the spa or fitness room, but this place definitely has a lot to offer and the prices are very reasonable. "
