"I chose Double Tree because they were one of the few options with overheight parking. It turned out to be parking by valet only which was another $36 but they did a great job. The hotel was without a flaw, close to the water, very comfy bed and multiple dining options."

"One of the amenities I found rather unique to the property is the "Reading Room". A charming & cozy room filled with a variety of books you can borrow. There is a sofa in which you may relax & read there if you wish. They also provide a small assortment of boxed games available in the lobby as well as a chess set/board assembled on one of their tables. Overall, I found the hotel rather quaint, including an array of tables & chairs in their outdoor patio. It is located on a residential street which provides a quiet atmosphere."

"We loved the location being right downtown and within walking distance to everything. The valet patking, although an extra cost, was an added perk as it took the pressure off of us trying to locate parking in such a busy area. Our room was spacious and very comfortable, and the staff at the front desk were very welcoming and helpful. "

"The biggest thing going for this hotel is the centralized location. It is an excellent spot from which to explore Victoria and also from which to go find some fun stuff to do. Having the Sticky Wicket pub right next door along with a liquor store also makes it very easy to get a drink. Additionally, there is a hotel parking lot nearby though this is an outdoor lot. Property was a little on the older side but still fully functional and well maintained, I had no issues in my room. The only real issue I had was the lack of fitness facilities, however, with all the walking around I was doing, this wasn't that much of a problem."

"While the Fairmont is grandiose, clean, and staff make an exceptional effort to ensure you’re cared for, for $800 a night it leaves a lot to be desired. We booked a “city view” room and our windows were 2/3 fogged to block the view of the alley. It was very loud (big trucks, etc). The room itself was clean, mattresses and pillows were nice, the bathrooms are old and tiny and overall disappointing. Additionally, it took over 4 hours for us to get our luggage after the bell hop had taken it. Staff worked hard to remedy this and we appreciate that. Despite this, for $800 a night I would not stay here again. "
