About this property
Ca' Del Monastero 7 Collection
Ca’ Del Monastero 7
Introducing the very special Ca’ Del Monastero - a fine antique residence comprising 8 superbly restored apartments of varying size (including Ca’ Del Monastero 7 - see its dedicated section below) situated in what was once the monastery connected to the ancient Church of San Zan Degolà (one of the oldest in Venice), moments from the Grand Canal in the district of Santa Croce.
Enjoying an atmosphere of calm serenity in what must surely be one of Venice’s most evocative and unspoilt neighbourhoods - indeed a step back in time - the Ca’ Del Monastero apartments offer spacious and beautifully presented accommodation for small and medium size parties or up to 34 guests if taken together.*
No expense has been spared in its recent remodelling
Carefully co-ordinated contemporary furnishings and soft neutral colours meld seamlessly against a traditional backdrop of polished red marble and/or traditional Venetian terrazzo flooring, while stylish high-spec fittings and attractive finishes, such as textured resin walls and luxurious feature wall coverings, give a fresh and fashionable twist to the building’s ancient framework.
Enhanced by a range of up-to-date facilities as demanded by today’s savvy traveller (including air-conditioning**, Wi-Fi internet connection and communal utility facilities), the Ca’ Del Monastero apartments are perfectly placed for communing with the true and heart and soul of the city and for visiting all that Venice has to offer while providing all the comforts of modern city living.
Ca’ Del Monastero 7
Rest easy beneath the rafters of this wooden beamed beauty, with your very own ‘altana’ roof terrace perched up on high.
Situated on the 3rd floor at the top of the residence and reached by lift to the 2nd floor and then taking one flight of stairs, this new ‘sleeps 2’ apartment comprises a hugely characterful main room dominated by a spectacular sloping beamed ceiling** and incorporating all the main living/sleeping areas of the apartment in one!
At the heart of the apartment lies a comfy main sitting/TV area, while to the side sits a modern and well-equipped kitchen with all mod cons and a dining area seating 4 lit by adjacent side/roof lights.
To the rear sits Ca’ Monastero 7’s up-to-date bathroom with bathtub and separate shower cubicle and, cleverly concealed behind semi-open*** dividing walls to the centre/rear of the apartment, the elegant master bedroom with double bed, wall sconces and luxury finishes, plus a doorway opening onto stairs leading to the ‘altana’ rooftop terrace - a splendid outside space with contemporary style furniture offering fabulous bird’s-eye views towards the dome and bell tower of San Geremia, the turret of the Fondaco Dei Turchi (Venice’s Natural History Museum), and the campanile of San Zan Degolà much closer to home.
* Are you a part of a larger group who’d like to stay close together but in separate apartments? We offer seven other apartments within this residence: Ca’ Del Monastero 1, Ca’ Del Monastero 2, Ca’ Del Monastero 3, Ca’ Del Monastero 4, Ca’ Del Monastero 5, Ca’ Del Monastero 6, Ca’ Del Monastero 8.
** Please consult the photo gallery carefully for an idea of the restricted headspace in certain areas of the apartment.
*** Please bear this in mind if seeking absolute privacy!
Our Comment
Style, creature comforts and history combined, in an area brimming with local flavour.
Within easy walking distance of Venice’s Santa Lucia Railway Station and Piazzale Roma if travelling light, and even closer to the vaporetto (waterbus) stops at Riva di Biasio and San Stae on the Grand Canal for hassle-free travel around the city.
And so much to see and do right on your doorstep…
Moments to Campo San Giacomo Dell’ Orio - one of Venice’s most charming ‘away from the crowds’ tree-filled squares and home to a well-stocked Coop supermarket and nearby local shops - and a short walk to a Conad supermarket on the Rio Marin canal.
Close to a great variety of cafes, bars and eateries including All’ Anfora, La Zucca, Il Refolo, Al Prosecco and Antica Besseta to name but a few, and within minutes of the Ca’ Pesaro International Gallery of Modern Art, Palazzo Mocenigo at San Stae (Museum of the History of Fabrics, Costumes and Perfumes) and the Fondazione Prada at Ca’ Corner Della Regina.
A leisurely stroll to the 14th Century Franciscan Church of the Frari, (home to Canova's extraordinary triangular marble tomb and Titian's legendary masterpiece, the 'Assumption'), the Scuola Grande di San Rocco with its amazing Tintoretto’s, the vast palazzo-lined Campo San Polo plus the culinary delights and buzz of the Rialto
