「We loved the hotel so much! The bar and restaurant provided nice food and very friendly service. The staff at the reception is kind, welcoming. All people there make us happy. One thing, the double bed in room 17 is squeaky. The mattress is good! Bathroom is very clean! Thank you very much, we’ll come again definitely.」

「Lorna was so incredibly accommodating and kind. She also made one of the best vegan breakfasts I've ever had and even went out of her way to get additional vegan snacks and treats when we mentioned it in the optional booking information (when she contacted me within about 15 minutes of booking). The beds are comfortable and the bathroom was modern with a good shower. Very close to town, either by the road or scenic railway path.」

「My wife and I spent two nights at the property in September and found it a very good base for the northern lake district. It is withing walking distance of Keswick and it is a very pleasant walk through the fields, so no need to move the car and search for parking in Keswick. Portinscale is a very pretty and quiet little village, with one nice pub. Craig and Clare were perfect hosts, very informative and friendly. Our only regret is that we should have stayed at least one more day.」

「The staff were some of the best we have ever met and met our needs perfectly. They ensured we had a room that was suitable and went the extra mile to achieve this so a big thank you. The property is in the process of being updated but this didn't affect our stay except perhaps to see how well it appears to be going and I'm sure when this is finished they will have a hotel to be proud of. They have only owned this hotel for about 6 months and it is obvious they are making huge efforts to update...
