"Don’t bring a cat - there’s no room to swing it in the bedroom. And the TV was comically small. That being said, it was clean and tidy and the food excellent. Staff also very friendly."

"The bedroom was excellent,clean well furnished and appointed. The only small criticism was that there was a lack of comfortable space away from the restaurant space and bar but as we were only staying one night this didn’t matter too much. The breakfast was excellent and the bar food,whereas it was well prepared, was a little limited in choice. We would however stay again."

"The castle is absolutely gorgeous. I stayed in one of the rooms in the outbuilding in the grounds, surrounded by peacocks, and it was lovely to walk across the lawn in the rain in the early morning for breakfast in the castle restaurant. The drawing room is incredible, with a great bar and genuinely spectacular places to sit in medieval window seats and beautiful couches. The staff are all wonderful. The rooms in the outbuilding are grand, but a lot of the fixtures are getting a bit run down....

"Accurately advertised. You can literally see a mile castle on Hadrian’s Wall from your room. Beautiful country views. A problem with our heat was addressed immediately. Excellent dinner choices and service in the cozy pub. "

"Staff were excellent and so helpful. Food and breakfast service was first class. The bathrrom was very modern clean and well kept. The carpet was stained and did have a little fusty smell however the overall experience and amenties were good in the room. The tea caddy table did need to be bigger was difficult to make drink on there. "
