This second-floor condo, right on Donner Lake, is lovely. The apartment itself is great—fully equipped, very comfortable, with large windows and a nice balcony overlooking the lake. However, the faceless management company does, let’s say, leave something to be desired. If you need to contact them, be prepared for phone holds. (I gave up the first time after 10 minutes.) The electronic door lock worked as promised on entry, but any way to re-lock it was baffling, and once reached by phone, the management representative couldn’t figure it out either. (I was then given the combination to a physical key lockbox). When we arrived, the kitchen still had some refuse: Open pet food in the refrigerator (ironic, as pets aren’t allowed), and coffee beans spilled (ironic, as they don’t leave any coffee for guests). A day later, someone came in without knocking—and this turned out to be a repairman who had been told the apartment was vacant (no: we still had two days to stay) and was there to fix a toilet (it wasn’t broken) and the electronic lock (which also wasn’t broken, but the repairman could now show me how to lock it!). As I say, this is indeed a lovely and great place to stay, but be prepared for oddities….
