"The place was in a lovely location, close to Old Towne Portsmouth, the river walk, the ferry landing to Norfolk. Easy to walk everywhere. The apartment is old but well maintained. It was quiet and the air conditioning was fantastic."

"Upon arrival to the hotel the staff was friendly and helpful. It was hot outside and they had drinks and light finger food being served which was perfect while waiting in line for the room. If you choose Breakfast, it’s actually pretty good with fresh omelettes prepared in front if you."

"Upon arrival, outside of the location was neat and clean. Host greeted us to inform us that the AC was out and a repair request was made. It took us by surprise and wish that this was communicated prior to our arrival.Temps were EXTREMELY hot and we made the best of the situation. Host provided 2 window units. They worked for the most part but much of the living quarters were still warm. No mention of a discount for the inconvenience was mentioned during or at the end of the stay. The living quarter itself was spacious and needs to have some updates (IE: blinds, vent coverings, some gaps around doors and some windows. This can definitely be due to the age of the dwelling. Overall, this place is in a great location and did the job for what the family was there to do. Host was great. Appreciated her attempt to remedy the AC situation. Things happen. If we had to have a short stay in the area again, this would be considered as an option. Our family had a great time!"

"Our stay while visiting our daughter was perfect. The apartment is absolutely gorgeous and centrally located to where we needed to be. I love that there was a washer and dryer so when we got home it was easy to just unpack. Hosts were informative and responded quickly. I would highly recommend this place. Thank you so much."
Spacious 5-bedroom house with AC in beautiful Portsmouth

"The house is beautiful and tastefully decorated, and we greatly appreciate the opportunity to vacation here, but the house was not clean, the floors were filthy, leaving our socks and feet black if we went without shoes.We did clean all the floors, several times while there, because it took several cleanings before our socks and feet did not turn black, and before we checked out. The trash cans, one large and one small were overflowing when we arrived.The owners did send people out to pick up trash, although it took a couple of days. I would suggest providing more trash receptacles, especially, since there is a raccoon that frequents the house. There are a few things that need to be fixed if this host is to successfully house 18 people. There is not enough hot water, there is not enough water pressure either. The upstairs shower is very tiny, I would suggest a removable shower head as it is extremely difficult to rinse off in that small of a space. The refrigerator is tiny, RV size and not nearly enough room for food and drinks for several people. We used two large coolers in addition to the refrigerator. The dishwasher is not secured and does not get the dishes clean, we opted to hand wash the dishes The kitchen breaker blows if you use the toaster and one other outlet. The amount of beds do not accommodate 18 people either, thankfully we brought a queen size and full size mattress with us. The mattresses were not the most comfortable either, per all the guests."

"Loved our stay! The location was in the middle of everything and we walked practically all of Norfolk! Communication was stellar and even with minor hiccups in our stay, the Owner was on top of it. The CLEANEST countertops ever. Would definitely stay again!"
