The Royal Sonesta Minneapolis Downtown

"Came in for a weekend of NFL fun with my son. We arrived a bit earlier on a Friday before check-in time, but I figured we'd walk in, drop our bags, and walk around the downtown area until our hotel room was ready. The two gentlemen at the front desk (this would have been Friday Oct 2 - I forgot their names!), were the most attentive and friendly front desk staff I've encountered at a hotel in a long time. There seemed genuinely happy to have us there and made us feel extremely welcome. They managed to get us a great room on the 4th floor right on the spot, so no need to drop bags and come back. This was a good thing, since my son and I had been on the go since 430am. That right there left an amazing impression on me. The property was clean, staff extremely friendly and accomodating, and the location was super convenient to the tram to/from airport, walking distance to bars / restaurants, and well as a 20 min walk to US Bank Stadium. The hotel also has a great onsite restaurant. There is a GREAT sportsbar right around the corner. I've been to many downtown areas in our nation's great cities, and while there are alway people walking around that may not be as fortunate as myself, I never felt unsafe. That cannot be said about other cities. I highly recommend this property and this area of downtown Minneapolis. Great time was had by all."

"Nice quiet rooms, even by the elevator. The room temperature was great and the AC was not loud at all. Some of the staff were fantastic and accommodating, which I appreciate. The elevators smelled like weed. Not really the staff’s fault but irritating. Breakfast and coffee were obscenely late 2 days in a row. All in all the location is good but I would not count on their promised amenities"

"What a great experience! When we arrived, my husband went to park the car and I went to check-in. When I walked in the door, there were two couples ahead of me. The front desk guy (who I now know as Michael) looked at me and said ‘Mrs Eastman?’. I looked around like ‘how did he know?’. He never caved and told me, but my husband said our name when he went into the parking lot. Too funny. Michael was super professional and accommodating, but I knew he had a sparkle in his eye! Our room was nicely appointed, had a coffee maker, a fireplace, and a double jacuzzi tub (and shower) which was amazing! It’s very dated, but in a good way, in original early 1900’s decor. I wish we would have stayed a day or two longer so we could’ve enjoyed Charlie’s Restaurant. I would LOVE to come back here and stay longer and enjoy the beautiful little town of Stillwater."

"Beautiful facility, friendly staff. I didn't notice that I needed to mention to the staff that I would like my room serviced so we came back to the room after a long day out and we did not have fresh towels. My mistake for not noticing the notice that was posted, I guess. Also awakened both nights by loud guests in the hall. I would definitely stay again."
